Timothée Chalamet – An Old Soul with Great Dreams

Although Timothée Chalamet still comes up when you google up-and-coming talents, the actor actually attracted attention as early as 2014 and has since established himself in an impressive way: in 2017, at the age of 22, he received his first Oscar nomination for his role as a gay teenager in Call Me By Your Name. His likeness now stands at Madame Tussauds, and in 2025 he proved his great talent playing musician Bob Dylan!
AMBITIOUS SUPER-TALENT
Heath Ledger in Joker inspired Timothée Chalamet to pursue an acting career – today, he is one of the most versatile and popular stars of his generation, constantly seeking new challenges in different genres (chart ruler Mercury conjunct Neptune, Mars and Uranus), and he made Oscar history with three nominations before the age of 30.
The New Yorker with the poetic-sounding name is the son of US real-estate agent and dancer Nicole Flender and French UNICEF editor Marc Chalamet. As a child, he appeared in commercials and two horror short films, made his TV debut in the series Law and Order in 2009, and later attended a prestigious acting school.
Although Chalamet’s chart contains no direct “actor configuration” involving the 10th and 3rd houses, his Sun in the 5th house of performance and creativity, trine the Ascendant and in the company of Mars, chart ruler Mercury, Uranus and Neptune, more than makes up for it. He has an enormous range of possibilities available to him as a performer.
With Venus as the MC ruler in the 6th house, his path to fame runs through work, commitment and diligence, which fits the strong Capricorn emphasis (especially Mars in Capricorn = the Three of Pentacles in Tarot: hard work, creative ideas, successfully putting talents to use) as well as the Virgo Ascendant.
Among his starring roles are the blockbuster films Dune, Wonka and A Complete Unknown (as Bob Dylan). The ambivalence of his characters (his Ascendant theme involving Neptune/Uranus) makes his roles psychologically fascinating: in the desert-planet saga Dune, he somehow manages to bridge the gap between messiah and tyrant.
His repertoire ranges from King Henry V in the dark medieval epic The King to the romantic Woody Allen comedy A Rainy Day in New York. He has even played a cannibal on a road trip!
TRUE MASTER OF EMOTIONS
The Moon in sensitive Pisces usually brings strong intuitive abilities, as well as musical talents, empathy, imagination and openness. However, its need to drift through the day without structure and not have to worry about a thing, together with its tendency to be influenced by unhealthy environments, can be a stubborn opponent in everyday life.
Fortunately, alongside his disciplined Capricorn power, Chalamet also has an equally hard-working, organised and detail-oriented Virgo Ascendant!
The Pisces Moon loves a creative environment and can put itself into any scenario. The Jupiter square and sextiles to Uranus/MC give it enormous breadth. Practically no limits are placed on him when it comes to pursuing his idealistic dreams!
Timothée’s chart ruler in close conjunction with Neptune shows his ability to dive deeply into emotions despite the grounding provided by his Sun and Ascendant. His Mercury/Mars/Neptune/Uranus stellium invites viewers to join him on a fantastic, exciting, and emotional journey.
Expressing the feelings of his imaginative, ambivalent characters (Moon in Pisces with the sparkle of the Uranus sextile and the expansive vitality of the Jupiter square, Mercury/Neptune/Uranus) is his strength: for the cinematic hit Interstellar, the then 17-year-old recorded highly emotional messages to his film father and cried when the director chose to focus not on his videos but only on the reactions to them. Nevertheless, he still loves the film to this day.
SKY-HIGH IDEALS AND SPIRITUALITY
Thanks to his ambitious Capricorn energy, acting masterpieces are his goal, and directors love his commitment and discipline. He is always working on one or more projects and even prepares for roles he might play someday!
With Scorpio/Sagittarius in the 4th house, there was likely a focused and supportive home environment from an early age, while his 5th house seems creatively inexhaustible.
“Whatever I do, I give 170%,” the US star said in 2025. For the role of Bob Dylan, he spent years learning guitar, singing, and harmonica. As chocolate maker Wonka, he sings and enchants with imagination and charm, and after years of practice, he delivers dazzling shots as an arrogant, brilliant table-tennis ace in Marty Supreme. He frequently portrays people who, despite all obstacles, believe in their ideals and create something extraordinary: his song “Pure Imagination” in Wonka is a Moon/Jupiter feast.
“Timmy” spent his summers with his grandparents in France and speaks the language 97% perfectly: Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 4th house reflects this cultural and foreign influence.
Because of his profound, introspective and philosophical nature, he is regarded by the media and fans as an “old soul”. He often talks about self-determination and fate and jokes that he “already had the mind of an 81-year-old at 17”. This connection to spirituality and the spiritual world is also reflected by Moon/Jupiter. Timothée also identifies with the Jewish faith of his maternal roots.
FASCINATING FACETS
Timothée usually seems to be in motion with his whole body, positively excited and animated (Mercury/Uranus/Mars, Virgo-Pisces nervous energy). With the slim, delicate proportions of a Virgo Ascendant and the gentle Mercury/Neptune influence, one would hardly expect this heartthrob to be capable of appearing intimidating and even frightening.
But Mars comes to his aid (sextile Saturn, its ruler), while Pluto square the Ascendant can add a powerful, threatening quality to his presence. His statement, “If something doesn’t scare you, it’s not a challenge,” fits the Pluto aspect as well as Mars/Uranus. Their involvement in the Ascendant theme, together with Venus in Aquarius, also reveals his provocative “exotic bird” side. However, he recently caused a shitstorm with a statement (made jokingly): he said he did not want to work in fields such as opera and ballet, where people desperately try to keep something alive that nobody is interested in anymore. Rather than celebrating the classical arts, his more progressive Venus prefers to flaunt quirky, androgynous fashion statements on the red carpet!
TIMOTHÉE’S DATING PROFILE
Romantically, Chalamet is just as unwilling to let opportunities pass him by as he is when selecting his Oscar-worthy leading roles.
He has been dating Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian’s half-sister and one of Instagram’s top five stars, for more than three years. Her Capricorn Ascendant and Virgo planets indicate beautiful love energies. Before this relationship, the Hollywood heartthrob dated none other than Lily-Rose, daughter of Johnny Depp, and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes. Remarkably, all three prominent ladies have their Moon in Scorpio – presumably an irresistible attraction factor. Timothée’s Moon in the 8th house, together with IC ruler Pluto in the 4th house (Moon/Pluto strongly emphasised), suggests that he is deeply fascinated by this intense, profound type of femininity!
Moon/Pluto also shows his close connection to his mother Nicole, who jokingly reminded her son at the SAG Awards: “Don’t forget to fold your laundry.” He joked that at 29 he was still being “chastised” like he was still a kid by his mother, who may even have helped him win the award by mobilising her entire New York network to vote for him.
Venus in Aquarius likes things humorous and original, while relationships with a Pisces Moon and Pisces Descendant are characterised by idealism. This definitely makes him seek a deeper soul connection and spiritual inspiration, which Mercury conjunct Neptune (Ascendant and Descendant rulers) reinforces. And as the press likes to emphasise: he also awakens romantic longings in his audience!
COSMIC TENDENCIES
Pluto conjunct Venus – the rulers of the developmental axis – will be exact in March 2028 and marks a key phase: MC ruler Venus in the 6th natal house is responsible for professional and career matters, and the Golden Globe winner still has enormous potential. Pluto’s transit reflects Timothée’s transformation of image – from sensitive indie darling to blockbuster star – but surely it was not solely his criticism of opera that was to blame for him failing to win an Oscar for Marty Supreme.
Saturn’s squares to the Capricorn planets, approximately from April 2027 to April 2028, are likely to spur him on to further 5th-house achievements of the highest calibre.
Leonardo DiCaprio, “one of his heroes”, once gave him this piece of advice: “No hard drugs and no superhero movies!” Now he has moved from the newcomer list to the A-list, and if he listens to his hero, what could possibly go wrong on Timmy’s dream mission to become the best of the best?
Timothée Chalamet was born in NYC/ USA on 27 December, 1995, at 9.16pm
