TAKE IT FROM AN ARIES - Grow up and grow a pair. (Saturn in Aries reloaded)

Our cosmic task master extraordinaire and karmic lesson expert, good old Daddy Saturn, isn’t due back in my fiery sun sign Aries until mid-February 2026, but again already I’m receiving, feeling and understanding an important part of its message, now more strongly than before. The major key word is: setting boundaries to protect our own standards and principles, without compromise.

Since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, its energy always contains a sense of newness, it’s the start of a new cycle with new discoveries and developments. And with Saturn starting yet another round through the whole zodiac, there’s an underlying flavour which isn’t revolutionary yet holds the promise that we’ll experience a wiser, a more mature, balanced and complete expression of this powerful planet after journeying through all 12 signs and picking up lots of new information.

So, despite plenty of challenges looming, perhaps my fellow Aries and myself (and all those with Aries emphasis) should be thrilled to work and grow with this “fresh new version” of Saturn, eager to learn important lessons.

When Saturn is in Aries, expressing our truth and personal integrity requires courage more than anything else. It takes courage to do the right thing. It takes courage to speak up if something isn’t okay for us, no matter how uncomfortable or if we’re likely to spark a conflict. It takes courage because we may feel a need to hold back our true opinions so we don’t upset our friends, our partners, our relatives… and potentially damage those relationships forever.

That courage to stick with our values and principles is a desirable asset to have, even more so in times where censorship and threats of punishment are used to scare and shut people up. I don’t believe that it’s simply my individualistic, straightforward Aries nature that makes me recognise that fact so deeply.

Nobody can pretend, without losing a significant chunk of their own credibility, integrity, and self-esteem, that something is okay or not a big deal if their inner judge clearly tells them that it’s plain wrong and unacceptable in the light of their fundamental standards. When we speak up and bravely set boundaries in alignment with our best judgement, others can either accept and respect them, or reject them and walk away.

It's time to defend our principles in the face of potential conflict and trouble. Aries is risky territory, but what have we got to lose? Let’s be honest (ha, it’s Saturn again!) – Isn’t unapologetic authenticity the best way to preserve our cherished long-term relationships? Saturn is after all exalted in Aries’s opposite sign Libra, which rules harmonious connections, relationships and partnerships. It connects well with Libra’s sense of justice, commitment, balance, and fairness. If a relationship falls apart after we’ve set clear, truthful boundaries, it’s because there was never a strong enough bond to support it in the first place. Real connections can handle and survive truth, challenges, and strife.

Without the courage to be fully authentic (Aries), you can’t achieve real maturity, which is what Saturn is always after. So have the courage to consistently act on your principles, even when it’s difficult. Set standards and boundaries, even in the face of conflict. And what are Saturn's rewards? A total no-brainer: Greater inner strength, freedom, and independence. Just take it from this Aries. -
